About TABLE 1888
RESTAURANT & BOUTIQUE HOTEL
HARRISONBURG, VA
History & Hospitality, Simply Elevated
We are a restaurant and boutique hotel in Harrisonburg, Virginia, nestled in the breathtaking Shenandoah Valley. In addition to our dining and accomodations, our venue is also available for weddings and private parties.
Our Story
Our venue is a historical landmark in the Shenandoah Valley. For nearly 40 years, it was the Joshua Wilton House. Ethan Herman worked here before buying the property with his family in 2026.
Ethan’s love for history, passion for food, and commitment to top-level experiences is the driving force behind the renovation and renaming of JWH to Table 1888.
THE TABLE 1888 DIFFERENCE
We carry with us all the things that made JWH special - genuine hospitality, a cozy bar, ridiculously good food, and a sense of community - but we’ve elevated everything.
Where there were once white tablecloths there are now stone tables. Chef Tom’s mushroom bisque, a once seasonal feature, is now a permanent menu offering. Beloved brunch items have reappeared on the menu to delight long-time customers.
We’re giving new meaning to “fine dining” by creating a place where the food is off the charts, the wine selection is top notch, and most importantly, everyone feels welcome because we make these experiences accessible, inviting, and memorable.
All are welcome at our table.
